Catalyst Computer Systems

Catalyst Computer Systems are a leading provider of Windows based dealer management software for the Car, Motorcycle and Haulage trades. In response to the changing software needs of the motorcycle dealership community, Catalyst developed Platinum, an integrated dealer management system. Platinum is a true multi-user and multi-site software system that allows dealerships to manage their entire business operations, assisting with areas such as accounts, sales, stock control, order processing, payroll and the MOT register.

From the earliest stages of Platinum's development, Catalyst placed great importance on the need for accurate and up-to-date addressing data. Jim Moffat, Catalyst Systems Sales Manager, explains, "Without accurate address and contact information, the full benefits of Platinum cannot be obtained. Our clients need to send out a wide variety of customer communications, from direct marketing pieces to MOT reminders, and address data is at the very heart of this." Jim Moffat continues, "We had previously integrated Platinum with solutions from other address management providers, but switched over to Capscan's solution because we encountered problems of cost, performance and integration with these. We found the integration of Zapcode into Platinum a relatively simple and hassle-free task. The integration project took hours rather than days or weeks. The Software Developers Kit they provided clearly outlined the way in which the API worked and included examples of code that had been written to integrate software in the past. What's more, the resell price that Capscan has offered us, allow us to offer our clients competitive quotations for Platinum with Zapcode included in it. We now automatically include Capscan's Zapcode in every quotation we produce for a motorcycle system, in much the same way we quote for anti-virus software. I can not see this changing in the future."

Catalyst believes that partnering with Capscan was an obvious choice. Jim Moffat continues, "Although other address management software do exactly what they say on the tin, we would not be prepared to sell them again now that we have tried Capscan who have offered us software and support of the highest order. With very little effort we now have an addition to our mainstream product that brings in extra revenue on every sale. As Zapcode is annually renewable, it is an income we can look forward to year after year. "
