Capscan’s Sorted For TFM&A 2008

New, Enhanced Version Of Sortcode Achieves Mailing Discounts With Royal Mail’s Mailsort And Walksort Schemes

Capscan, a leading supplier of international address management solutions and data integrity services, will be unveiling the new version of its mailing software, Sortcode, on stand D20 at Technology for Marketing and Advertising (TFM&A) 2008, 12th – 13th February, Earl’s Court, London. Available to customers in Spring 2008, Sortcode features brand new functionality, including easier organisation and processing of address databases, further enabling users to achieve the discounts for large volumes of mail available with Royal Mail’s Mailsort and Walksort schemes.

Available for demonstration throughout TFM&A 2008, the new version of Sortcode boasts an improved user interface, as well as new Database Manager, Job Manager and Job Scheduler components. Users of Sortcode will be able to manage multiple databases for different mailing dates, queue up address processing jobs for execution at specified times and organise ‘favourite’ job files for easy access. Other enhancements include more support for international address data, automatic updates and a faster, easier to use wizard for creating job files.

Managing Director of Capscan, Terry Hiles, says, “Sortcode’s new improvements have been developed as a result of the research we conducted with Mailsort and Walksort users on ease-of-use and functionality. The new additions to Sortcode save even more time and administration costs in preparing the address data and the processing jobs can be completed in a faster time. Users are essentially rewarded with faster delivery and better accuracy in large volumes of mail reaching its intended destination.”

Sortcode prepares and rearranges address data prior to a mail out, by ensuring that the addresses in the contact database comply with the required format or sort sequence for Royal Mail’s Mailsort, Presstream and Walksort schemes. By automating this process, not only is the mail out eligible for a postal discount, but also other costs such as personnel and administration are reduced.

Sortcode is available as a standalone desktop tool or as an API (Application User Interface) for integrating into other addressing software applications. It enables a selection code to be attached to an address in accordance with Mailsort and Walksort schemes, as well as functionality for mail bag label printing. Sortcode is now certified to process mailings for Mailsort 1400), Flatsort 3 1400, Mailsort 700 (a.k.a. CBC), Mailsort 120, Mailsort RSVP, Presstream and Walksort. The postal discount is achieved for volumes of over 1,000 (large letters) – 4,000 (letters) items, though higher discounts can be achieved for over 10,000 items.

Alongside the new version of Sortcode, Capscan will also be making its full range of address management, data integrity software and services available for viewing and demonstration, including Matchcode and the award-winning on-demand cleansing tool, Capscan OnDemand.

Technology for Marketing and Advertising 2008 takes place from 12th – 13th February, at Earl’s Court, London. For further information or to register your attendance, please visit www.t-f-m.co.uk.
